C. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODELS

(1) On Part No. 105090-1, -51, and -63, the restraining system consists of a lap belt with individual retractors and no shoulder harness. The attach point for the retractors is aft of the seat pivot point.

(2) On Part No., 105090-5l, -55, -57, and -65, the restraint system uses a single retractor at the lower rear of the harness system and none at the lap belt connect points on the seat bottom and back pivot points.

(3) Part No. 105090-59 and -69, is a modified version of Part No. 105090-55, 57, and 65 (ref. Service Bulletin 25-1259) where the restraint system is replaced with a system using the same retractor at the lower rear of the harness system , but individual retractors are provided for the lap belt portion, moved aft of the seat pivot point.

(4) Part Nos. 105090-61, -67, -71 and -73 are modified versions of Part No. 105090-59, where the restraint system is replaced with a system using two continuous straps crossing over in back of the seat occupant. The straps are threaded through the lap belt attach points, and the system uses a single retractor at the lower rear of the harness system. The attach points for the lap belt portion is moved forward to the seat pivot point.

(5) Part No. 105090-1, and -5 use headrest structure assemble Part No. 104230-11 with headrest cushion assemble Part No. 104196-27.

(6) Part No. 105090-51, -55, -57, -59, and -61, use headrest structure assembly Part No. 106283-11 with headrest cushion assembly Part No. 106283-27.

D. OPERATION

(1) All seat assemblies are spring loaded and pneumatically snubbed to automatically return to the folded or stowed position when not in use. Simple rotation of the seat bottom assembly by application of a combined downward and outward force unfolds seat for use.

(2) Pneumatic dampening of the spring return mechanism is adjustable by means of an adjusting nut located on the lower end of the pneumatic retractor assembly which should be adjusted to an approximate time delay of 2 - 5 seconds for completion of the cycle upon removal of weight from the seat bottom.

(3) Seat bottom and seat back cushion assemblies are secured with Velcro tape and button fasteners. They are readily removable by application of an outward force sufficient to disengage the Velcro tape and button fasteners.

(4) Lumbar support for seat occupant is provided by linkage geometry, swinging the seat back forward to an incline plane as seat assembly is actuated.

(5) Restraint systems are provided on the seat assembly for occupant use.

(6) A stowage compartment, located below the seat bottom, is provided for the life vest. A recessed lock, located on the access door, opens the door by depressing the latch. The life vest is attached to the inside of the door by a bungee cord.

(7) The retractable headrest assembly automatically extends to a total height of approximately 50.55 inches when the seat bottom is unfolded for use. This headrest renders the seat usable for aft facing applications within the aircraft.
